Staff and children alike from EYFS to Y6 thoroughly enjoyed learning the song and dance for #spreadthehappiness Challenge number 1. We're going to start the day off with it all week! Here's a little clip to show you how they got on...
It turned out that overnight we had a visit from a baby Purple People Eater!!! We had a mysterious letter and worked hard today to create pictures, explore descriptive writing and even used detecting bubble wands to find out where it had been! What a fantastic time we all had today! The children in EYFS practised writing his name 'Sam' and thought about what he was doing/saying. They tried to create their own 3D and purple play-dough models and made purple paint/collage pictures. #spreadthehappiness challenge number 2
#spreadthehappiness challenge number 3 complete! Our pre-school came to join in with some of our EYFS children for some Dough Disco fun!
#spreadthehappiness challenge number 4...squiggle whilst you wiggle! Our first photo shows the children feeling sad before they started squiggling and the second photo shows how happy they were after squiggling!!
#spreadthehappiness challenge number 5...a large roll of paper! Our Y1 children rolled out the paper on a muddy bank in our Forest School area and marched up and down, making muddy footprints whilst singing the Grand Old Duke of York! What fun! And what a smart Grand Old Duke we had!

#spreadthehappiness challenge number 11...we have thoroughly enjoyed wrapping our shoes boxes and loading them full of goodies ready to send away for Christmas. It makes us happy thinking about children, less fortunate than ourselves, opening these boxes at Christmas time.

The Butterflies children wanted to say a big thank you to Trish in the kitchen and to Miss Johnson for looking after them at lunchtime. I hope that the happiness has been shared with many of you at home tonight!

#spreadthehappiness challenge number 18... how big is a million? Our Y1 children started by reading the story of 'How Big Is A Million?' before having a go at painting a million stars! we added glitter in the end as we realised we wouldn't be able to paint that many stars.

They used a variety of tools including sticks, bricks, rolling pins and brushes to bash, smash and melt their way through their icy balloon shape. Their perseverance and problem solving paid off, as they all dug their way to a surprise present. What great fun they had!
Another great #spreadthehappiness challenge today! Our choir visited Age Concern in the village to sing to the elderly. We thoroughly enjoyed it and it certainly made our audience very happy!
